Comprehensive evaluations and treatment are offerred to infants, toddlers, children and adolescents with Austism Spectrum Disorder. Evaluations often include but are not limited to: play observations in a play room especially equiped for children and adolescents; a developmentally oriented interview with the child's/adolescent's parents utilizing the Autism Dignostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R) developed by autism specialist Dr. Michael Rutter,et.al; the administration to the child/adolescent of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule-Second Edition also developed by Dr. Rutter, et.al., and other tests of cognitive and emotional development which are deemed appropriate and which will be selected in consultation with the child's/adolescent's parents.
Dr. Feldman trained in clinical work (assessment and treatment) with autistic children/adolescents at the Kennedy Center of the John's Hopkins University Medical Center in Baltimore under the supervision of Dr. Mary Ainsworth. He later worked over a ten year period with Dr. Michael Fordham in London who was a specialist in autistic disorders. Dr. Feldman was also in charge of the child clinical psychology department at Stanford Medical School's Department of Child Psychiatry where he trained child clinical psychologists and child psychiatrists in the assessment and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
Dr. Feldman provides individualized assessments and treatment that meet and address the developmental/emotional needs of the child/adolescent client. Parents and/or guardians are included in the assessment and treatment process and will be given a full diagnostic report of their child's/adolescent's assessment.
